Kevin Doyle and Roy Follett
After the emphasis on utilities in the last issue we return
to a more balanced format with a spread of contributions throughout the
different sections of the magazine.
We have, of course, the usual variety of 'Questions and
Answers' and 'Hints and Tips' and, after an absence of a couple of issues, the
return of the 'Instruments' section. We have features looking at techniques for
creating longer programs and for the automatic chaining of files. The 'Utilities'
section reveals some problems with the Soundsculptures Wave-Designer software
and provides some solutions, and in 'News and Reviews' the Music 1000 amplifier
and D-110 MIDI expander are examined.
Making up the rest of the disc we have fifteen new pieces of
AMPLINEX members' music - some original, others more familiar.
Since our next issue will mark the second birthday of
AMPLINEX (it started in September 1987) we are planning a special competition
in which you can win a Music 3000 expander unit (reviewed in AMPLINEX 011). So
make sure that you return your disc on time for issue 013 - it could be your
lucky number!
And don't forget - keep those contributions coming.
