by Alan MinnsThis music is written so that it plays forever and so this recording is just a sample of the music that it could produce. This little program is not music - it is an attempt to create the auditory illusion of the ever increasing pitch, sometimes called the Barberpole effect.
Four identical sound sources at octave separations are swept through a four octave range of frequency and each with a different and constantly changing amplitude. The result is reasonable - but not as good as it might be! If any member is interested to experiment, I would be pleased to hear the results via AMPLINEX. Alan Minns |
