Kevin Doyle, Roy Follett and Jackie Follett
As you will have noticed, there is an extra disc accompanying
this issue of AMPLINEX. As we complete our first year of publication we decided
to celebrate with a 'bonus' music disc. This enables us to publish some of the excellent
music contributions we have received but have not had space to include in past
issues. There are eighteen pieces on the music disc as well as the six in the
normal music section of this disc. We hope you enjoy them all.
This issue is also packed with utilities, two of which
continue features in AMPLINEX 005: we have a utility for using a joystick with
the Music 2000 MIDI interface (reviewed in AMPLINEX
005) and a machine-code utility which provides a 'window' into the BBC
computer's memory as AMPLE is working (following the feature on
the inner workings of AMPLE in AMPLINEX 005).
We had a good response to the larger-than-usual Questions and Answers
section in AMPLINEX 005 and have a special feature on the Opus Challenger
disc system which was one of the problems raised.
As we mark the end of the first year of AMPLINEX we would
like to thank all those members who have made contributions over the past
twelve months - the size and the quality of the response is better than we ever
hoped when we launched AMPLINEX this time last year.
We hope that you will maintain this excellent record and
contribute to the success of AMPLINEX during its second year.
